Bikini Models Wanted!Photographers too!My ExperienceAs a photographer, I'm constantly finding new sites to market myself on and show off my portfolio. In December of 2005, I signed up on UjenaTalent.com which is a great website for networking and finding talent. In January of 2008, I attended my first Ujena Talent Jam in Cancun, Mexico. I went expecting the trip to be somewhat of a vacation. BOY, WAS I WRONG! I ended up shooting with 16 gorgeous bikini models, over 5 days in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. In total, there were about 50 bikini models and 30 photographers competing at the event. I didn't win and I didn't even place in the Top Ten, but I didn't feel bad about that either as I was up against some top-notch photographers. My trip ended up being one of the best learning experiences I could have asked for. I also made several friends that I will keep for life. Obviously, I'm very excited about Ujena and the opportunity they created for me. Since returning, I have become the Ujena Director for Detroit. And, I will be giving out one $100 scholarships every month for the rest of the year to models that I work with to encourage them to attend a Talent Jam. What's in it for you?UJENA is currently holding five (yes, 5) Talent Jams a year. The largest is held in August in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. If you can only attend one, I hear that this is the one to go to. Here's why you should consider going:
Want to come to a Ujena Talent Jam?First, you need to sign up on the Ujena Talent website. You'll need at least one good picture to put on your profile there. Contact me if you don't have any. I'll meet with you to get you at least ONE to use! Signing up is free.
Look around the site and make some friends. My id there is 12658. Contact me for a shoot if you're interested in going to a Talent Jam so you have a chance at one of the scholarships I'm giving away. OR, so I can get you signed up to attend!
The cost of attending is pretty reasonable, only $895.00 US for five days. At most of the events, everything is included: room, food, drinks, workshops and parties. You can get some of that paid for buying getting sponsors to help send you. A few last things I should mention: The Ujena Jams have been around for 24 years and are well done. There are events that require some formal wear and you will need to complete a 5K (3 Mile) run. You'll also need a costume for the costume party. You should bring a laptop to store and view your photos from each photographer. The drinks are often free at the hotel and the parties, but you need to watch yourself. Don't drink too heavily and sleep when you can, you need to be up with the Sun to catch the best light. Last thing: Don't go tanning the week before you get on the plane! If you need more info, please feel free to contact me!
